Chairman of Nedcomoak, a real estate firm, Dr Kennedy Okonkwo and entertainment guru and record label owner, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money have donated N100mllion to Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo to fight insecurity in the state.
Anambra State had for sometime now fallen to criminals, with lots of cases of kidnappings, robbery, killings registered on weekly basis.
Soludo has however recently stood up to the situation, while many of the criminals have been dislodged.
The duo made the donation when they led other businessmen from the state, including chairman of Cubana Group, Obinna Iyiegbu, alias Obi Cubana, and a musician, Kingsley Okonkwo, who is also popularly known as Kcee Limpopo to meet with the governor.
The quartet met with Prof. Soludo at the government house on Wednesday, where they made the donation to aide the fight.
Kennedy Okonkwo who led the group said: “We are happy with your fight against criminals in the state, and we will always support you.”
The Anambra State business moguls while addressing Soludo said they were in the state to seek strategic partnership with the state government across key business and industrial areas ranging from real estate, entertainment and haulage.
“The duo of Kennedy and Emeka Okonkwo lauded government’s effort in the fight against insecurity in the state which they say is a major hindrance to the socio economic development of the state.
In accordance with the Government’s call for support few weeks ago from ndị Anambra in diaspora in the fight against insecurity, Mr. Kennedy and Emeka Okonkwo, on behalf of their Companies, made a donation of N100million to the Anambra State Security Trust Fund.
The governor thanked his visitors for betting on their state, promising to justify every confidence they hold in the government.
