Anambra 2017 Guber: APC’ll Field Me, Not Ekwunife, Tony Onwoye of Andy Uba If They Desire Victory – Obidigbo

A member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a governorship hopeful of the party in Anambra State, Dr Chike Obidigbo has said that if the party truly wants  to capture power in the state, it would field him for the governorship election next year.

Obidigbo stated this during an interaction with journalists to mark the end of the year in his factory, Hardis and Dromedas in Umunya, yesterday.
He said he is the only governorship hopeful in the party who has the capacity to run against the sitting governor and win the election for the party.
Obidigbo who was reacting to a question on APC’s habit of fielding only candidates who have suffered for the party in times past, and kept faith with in thick and thin, said winning election is not about those who have been in the party for a long time, but fielding people who have structure and support from the people.
He said, “If APC wants to win the election, it would field their best, but if they use their ticket to compensate someone for loyalty, then they would have made a mistake.
“If that is what they have done it in the past, then they know where it has landed them. They must give their ticket to those who can win election.”
He added that he is not desperate to become the governor of Anambra State, saying that if he failed to clinch the party’s ticket, he will return to his business, but would not withdraw his support for the party.
Obidigbo who is a renowned manufacturer said that his whole ambition to govern Anambra State was to use the instrument of power to create jobs, as he is sure that he is blessed with ideas that can provide employment in Anambra, but stated that he cannot do it as a single individual.
“My ambition has nothing to do  with selfish interest, money or no money, power or no power or no power, I only sought to help my immediate constituency, because of what God has deposited in me.”
