Come reclaim your possession, police urge owners of stolen tricycles

Police authorities in Anambra State have said they have recovered several tricycles, stolen by bandits in recent times.

The authorities called on owners of tricycles, popularly known as Keke to come to their office to check if their tricycles were among those recovered.

There have been a recent upsurge in the rate of stealing of tricycles in Anambra State, in both urban and rural areas.

In a press release by the Anambra State Police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson said over 12 tricycles have recently been recovered from robbers.

He said: “Anambra Police Call on Owners of 12 Stolen But Recovered Tricycles to come for collection.

“This is to inform the good people of Anambra State that the Police at Harbour Division, in Ogbaru LGA, during the course of several operations in the last one month have recovered the underlisted tricycles, suspected to have been stolen.

“Owners are requested to come forward with valid proof of ownership to claim their property.”

The command gave the registration numbers of the recovered tricycles to include: NKK 170 UR, KTU 315 QD, NSH 178 VC, UMI 281 QV, GAS 830 WU, ACA 344 QM, TTK 287 WZ, ABB 215 QA, AGU 105 UD, UKP 114 QR, UWN 544 QH and ATMC 420525.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye assured members of the public that the State Police Command is committed to ensuring that stolen properties are not only recovered but returned to their rightful owners to assuage sense of deprivation victims of such crimes go through.
