APC, APGA to work Collaboratively as Progressives to Deliver Tinubu in Anambra in 2027 – Umahi

– Peter Obi is my friend, but I’ve told him he won’t win

The Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi has said that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and their counterparts in All Progressives Congress (APC) will work collaboratively as progressives to ensure that President Bola Tinubu wins the 2027 presidential election in Anambra State.

The slogan ‘progressives are working together’ was first coined by Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, during the run up to his re-election in 2025, when Tinubu visited Anambra State to commission some projects built by the governor.

Soludo while addressing President Bola Tinubu then had stated that both APGA and APC were all progressive parties, insisting that while APGA is the first registered progressive party, their APC counterpart were the largest group of Progressives. He stated that in Anambra, progressives were working together, insisting that he would work for Tinubu’s reelection.

Umahi who was in Anambra on Friday to supervise the level of work in the Obosi, Ogbunike, Ogidi interchange road, leading from the Second Niger Bridge, told journalists that he was happy to be in Anambra, a state which he described as stronghold of President Bola Tinubu.

He said the shouts of marginalization by most Igbo people was untrue, insisting that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has remained the most friendly to the Igbo people and deserved to be supported. He insisted that previous government did not support Ndigbo much.

“My people used to talk to me about what they read on social media about me, but I don’t go to social media. I’m surprised that at every small turn, our people take it to social media and say Igbo are being marginalized. Where were such people in the previous administrations were Igbo were truly marginalized?

“Let me use this opportunity to tell you that Tinubu is going to win in 2027. Anambra is a very strong base for Mr President and the progressives are working together here. In the last off cycle election here, progressives took all the votes.

“For those of you who go on social media and insult me, I want to tell you that Peter Obi is my friend and I used to tell him he can not win.

“All our South East votes can not make our brother president. I will keep telling you the truth and you know that it gives me happiness to know that I say things that occupy your thought, and it makes me happy to know that you are hearing my message. If you like insult me from now till tomorrow, I know that you will never come to me face to face to insult me.

“I am happy that our people are now hearing the message and now keying into the administration of President Bola Tinubu. So, I urge our people to come out on election day and vote for APC, don’t go and be playing football on election day and expect that you will be appreciated for not voting.

“Even God likes appreciation, so you must vote for Tinubu and that will show how appreciative you are of these projects he is siting here. Don’t waste your support because if you do, Tinubu will still win. If you say Christ is not the Lord, it doesn’t make Him less the Lord. Tinubu will win and even if you dispute it, he will still win,” Umahi said.

The minister who inspected the project charged the contactors to speed up work on the site, while insisting that all engineers working with the ministry in all states must insist on contractors delivering according to specification and standards settled for by the ministry.

The Acting Controller of Works in Anambra State, Engr Timothy Emenike praised Umahi for his constant proactivness and tireless efforts in going round the country inspecting road projects and other infrastructure to ensure that contractors meet the agreed specification.
