Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Veronica Obiano, the pretty and amiable first lady of Anambra State is an indigene of Anambra State. She is married to Chief Willie M. Obiano the Executive Governor of Anambra State. They are blessed with
two children- a boy and a girl.
The saying that behind every successful man is a woman holds true for Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Veronica Obiano who has always encouraged her husband towards a more programmed approach to philanthropy. Their acts of charity soon began to make them noticed in the ancient Eri kingdom with timely interventions in the lives of the people, providing succor and transformative assistance to people in need. Although they lived and worked in Lagos, they still made out time to reach out and touch the lives of people in Aguleri(her husband’s hometown) and environs where their intervention was most needed. It was purely on account of their endless striving to enrich the lives of others that Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Veronica Obiano and her husband Chief Willie M. Obiano- the executive Governor of Anambra State were given the rare titles of Akpokuedike (the warrior in demand) and Osodieme (the one who does like her husband). That was long before they ever dreamt of serving Anambra State as the first family.
She is fondly referred to as Nne Anambra by all in the State due to her motherly concern for all. Her compassion goes out to children with special needs, disabilities, indigent and the widows. She once said in an interview, that all these categories of people are God’s special gift to humanity and that the world is incomplete without them as they remind us of our imperfections and God’s completeness.
In a bid to impart on more lives she floated an NGO with the name ‘Caring Family Enhancement Initiative(CAFE); whose sole aim is to touch the lives of the downtrodden and disadvantaged
