The Cathedral of Church of Saint Faith, Diocese of Awka (Anglican Communion), was filled with mourners and well-wishers on Saturday 14th September, 2024 as they gathered to bid farewell to Lady Ifeoma Nebuwa Chukwuogor, a devout Christian, accomplished professional, and bar aspirant of the Nigerian Law School.
Delivering a sermon during the burial worship, Bishop Ken Ifemene of Ikwo Diocese, Ebonyi State, emphasized that death is gain for believers in Jesus.
He encouraged Christians to live for Christ, stressing that without holiness, no one can please God.
“Death is reality, and no amount of wealth or power can stop it,” Bishop Ifemena said, adding, “But for those who have the spirit of Christ, death is gain. We are called to make heaven, and heaven is real.”
The bishop cautioned against consulting dark powers, urging Christians to focus on living for Christ.
The funeral service began with a hymn from Ancient and Modern 210: “Rock of Ages” and featured heartfelt tributes from family members, friends, and colleagues.
