Gov Uzodinma will Win Anambra Election for APC – Imo Speaker

Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Paul Emeziem, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State.

The Razor News correspondent in Owerri reports that the Speaker said the choice of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State to head the party’s campaign in Anambra was a clear testament of the governor’s political sagacity and leadership dexterity.

He said: “Uzodimma has continued to distinguish himself as an astute politician, who knows his onion as far as electoral processes are concerned and who has what it takes to achieve the desired election success.”

Congratulating the governor on landing the party’s plum job, Emeziem applauded the APC leadership for the choice. The Imo Speaker enjoined Anambra people, especially APC faithful, to support Uzodimma by voting massively for APC during the election.

According to him, APC remains the most viable political party in the country that has genuine concern for the general well-being of Anambrarians and the Igbo at large.

He advised the people of Anambra to embrace, support and vote massively for APC during the election for their general good.

Meanwhile ,the APC and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, traded blame over the reliance on thuggery and vote-buying in the November 6 poll.

At a roundtable on the Anambra poll organised by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Abuja, APC’s Head of Digital Affairs, Mr. Dada Olusegun, expressed optimism that the party’s candidate, Senator Andy Ubah, would rely on issues-based campaign and developmental strides of the APC-led government to sweep the poll.

Olusegun, who admitted that unemployment and poverty fuel vote-buying, blamed the PDP and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) administrations in Anambra for the menace of vote-buying and thuggery that had dogged the conduct of elections in the state over the years.

But PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, who insisted that “Valentine Ozigbo remains the flag-bearer of the party” in the poll, claimed that the PDP was not known for vote-buying.

He argued that vote-buying and thuggery was the hallmark of the APC-led administration since 2015, citing the violence that characterised the Kogi State governorship poll.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, who assured the electorate of a hitch-free poll, disclosed that a crack team of his personnel would be deployed to every nook and cranny of the state to protect life and property.
