Women Groups Laud Ex-Isuaniocha PG over Peace Process in Community

Some women groups in Isuaniocha community of Awka North local government area of Anambra State says they are excited as relative peace is gradually returning to the Community.

The women in their numbers made their feelings known when they donated food items to some security agents who were in the town for peace keeping mission.

According to their spokesperson , Mrs Alice Chukwukeluo ,the women have been living in fear and tears following the crisis that erupted in the community five years ago, leaving many people dead and houses destroyed.

She however noted that the moves so far made by the Onyeagolu family to return peace to the community was a welcome development,hence their decision to donate food items for the upkeep of those involved in the process.

Another group of women , Concerned Women of Isuaniocha, led by Mrs Chinyere Nweke 1also stormed the place with food items while singing victory songs of peace and joy.

Mrs Nweke said despite the fact that the Onyeagolu family of Otoko village, and few others were at the receiving end of the crises as their residential houses were destroyed, the women commended them for embracing peace five years after they were chased out of the town.

Receiving the items from the women, a community leader, Chief Paulinus Onyeagolu described peace as a panacea to development of every town hence the victims of the crises destruction decided to go for it bearing the brunt of the damages done to their houses and means of livelihood.

Our Correspondent Reports that items brought by the women groups include, rice, garri,dry fish, ogbono, egusi, tin tomatoes, maggi, among other food condiments.
