The Anambra State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2025 election, Mr John Chuma Nwosu, has urged Nigerian youths to embrace knowledge, technology, entrepreneurship and innovation as pathways to a better future.

Nwosu, who made the call in a message marking the 2026 International Youth Day, described the youth as “leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, professionals and change-makers of today,” rather than merely leaders of tomorrow.

He urged young Nigerians not to allow the challenges confronting the country to extinguish their dreams, stressing the need for them to continually acquire knowledge, develop their skills and pursue excellence.

Nwosu particularly charged youths in Anambra State to uphold the values of hard work, enterprise, integrity and community service, which he said were among the attributes for which the people of the state were renowned.

“Our state and our nation need your ideas, your talents and your active participation in building a better future,” he said.

The ADC candidate also called on governments, political leaders, the private sector and other stakeholders to create an enabling environment for young people to learn, work, innovate, access opportunities and prosper.

He said empowering young people should not be viewed as charity, but as an investment in the future of communities, Anambra State and Nigeria.

Nwosu said: “Your dreams are valid, your voices matter, and your future is worth fighting for.”

He advocated a Nigeria where talent would be rewarded, innovation encouraged, education made accessible and every young person given a genuine opportunity to succeed.

He congratulated Nigerian youths on the occasion of International Youth Day, wishing them greater opportunities, renewed hope and success in their endeavours.
