National Assembly Appoints Anambra Journalist as Ambassador on Illicit Drug Trafficking

The joint National Assembly Committee on drug has approved the appointment of Mr Abuchi Onwumelu as an ambassador.

Onwumelu, a journalist with FIDES Newspaper in Awka, Anambra State is also a member of the executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

A notice of the appointment sent by the recipient is below:

The Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Drugs and Narcotics  appointed me as an Ambassador on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Date: Wednesday, 28th July 2021. The appointment letter signed by Sen. Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka (Senate Committee Chairman on Drugs and Narcotics and Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo (House Committee Chairman on Drugs and Narcotics) was presented to me today at my country home Umuoji by Dr Christabel Regan Okoye, MNO, FCAI (Executive Secretary, NANDRUM/Ambassador Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Drugs and Narcotics) during the Flag-off of Drug Abuse Community Control (DRACC), Anambra State.
