Anambra APC governorship candidate Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu claims President Bola Tinubu has backed him to unseat Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Ukachukwu said: “Mbadiniju did one tenure, what stops Soludo from doing one tenure? I have Tinubu’s backing to unseat Soludo in Anambra.

“Soludo has not presented himself for election. This is the first time he is contesting for an election. Obiano, during the power of incumbency, joined us together, and then we all supported Soludo to win. That was how he won.

“This is the first time he is presenting himself to Anambra to vote for him as a person. And now, we want to know whether he is popular or not. Don’t forget Mbadiniju did one term. What stops Soludo from doing one term?”

However, his claim sparked criticism on social media. A Facebook user, Emmanuel Ojukwu, responded: “Using President Tinubu’s name to politic in Anambra is not right. Tinubu went to Enugu and praised PDP Governor Peter Mbah because of his good works.

“Tinubu is aligning with him in a partnership for the future… ” So, Tinubu has enough information on Anambra and Soludo’s achievements and will wisely decide to be serviced by an existing grassroots structure, avoiding those who will come to pillage Anambra in his name. This is a far better option for Tinubu.

“It is needless heating up Anambra in the name of fighting for Tinubu’s 2027, when in actual fact Tinubu can get much more simply by building a smooth, cost-effective partnership with Soludo.

Another user chimed in: “The fact is that Anambra state is not a common state in Nigeria where you can come out and threaten anybody with presidential backing.

“Anambra is a great state whereby even the person contesting won’t know their fate until the final day… Anambra is not an APC state, believe it or not. Is this a rigging warning? Well, let’s watch and see how it goes.”

Another user added,”Is this a rigging warning? Well, let’s watch and see how it goes. After all, we hear that Hope Uzodinma promised Ozigbo he could win from the back seat as he did from fourth position. We live in times of Supreme Court-elevated leaders over and above the voter’s choice.”
