A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chinedu Obigwe, has predicted a landslide victory for incumbent Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo in the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
Obigwe, National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, dismissed the chances of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant Sir Paul Chukwuma, describing him as a “paperweight” to Soludo.
Obigwe’s reaction followed a media report on Chukwuma’s inauguration of a campaign council to challenge Soludo.
He likened Chukwuma’s chances to “a camel passing through the eye of a needle,” citing several factors working against him, including his origin from Umueri, the same local government as former Governor Obiano, which makes it unlikely for Anambra people to abandon zoning and vote for him.
Obigwe described Chukwuma’s governorship ambition as “entertainment” and “a waste of time,” questioning the composition of his campaign council, mainly comprising decampees from APGA to APC.
He believes Chukwuma is not planning for a free and fair primary election but rather aims to hijack the APC ticket.
Obigwe averred that with Chukwuma as APC’s candidate, the 2025 election would be a “walkover” for Governor Soludo.
