In a bold pitch to grassroots voters ahead of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Mr. John Nwosu, has pledged to run an administration anchored on equity, empathy, and inclusive governance, if elected.

Nwosu made the commitment on Thursday at his campaign headquarters in Awka during an interactive session with women leaders drawn from all 21 local government areas of the state.

Addressing the crowd of enthusiastic supporters, the ADC flagbearer said he was deeply encouraged by the show of solidarity and assured the women that they would have a central place in both his campaign and prospective administration.

“I had the privilege of hosting women from across the 21 LGAs of Anambra today. Their presence here and the affirmations of support have strengthened my resolve to serve.

“They told me that my agenda, especially the pillars focused on security, the economy, healthcare, and social welfare, aligns with their hopes for Anambra,” Nwosu said.

The ADC candidate said his decision to contest was inspired by the urgent need to offer a credible alternative to the current administration, and to restore leadership founded on fairness and compassion.

“Our mothers, our wives, our widows, and our sisters are the ones who suffer most when government fails.”

“Bad governance, economic hardship, and rising insecurity have placed a disproportionate burden on women,” he said.

Nwosu promised that women would not be sidelined under his leadership, pledging a 60:40 gender ratio in appointive offices.

“Women will not only be visible in this campaign, they will be visible in government. My administration will ensure that 60 percent of appointments are open to women, because inclusive leadership is the only way forward,” he declared to loud applause.

The campaign event also served as a platform for discussions on the unique challenges facing women in the state, particularly in the areas of healthcare access, economic empowerment, and safety.

Nwosu urged the women to take the message of change back to their communities, promising a government that listens, understands, and delivers.

With weeks to the poll, the ADC candidate continues to build momentum on a platform he describes as a “national coalition for a new Anambra.
