Nnewi Sports Club Hosts Tennis Tournament to Honour Louis Carter at 71

The Nnewi Sports Club in Anambra State has organized a week-long Tennis tournament to celebrate their Prime Minister, Chief Louis Izuchukwu Onwugbenu, Chairman of Louis Carter Group, as he approaches his 71st birthday.

The tournament, which began on August 11, 2024, at the Nnewi Sports Club, was attended by notable figures, including the celebrant, Chief Louis Carter; CEO of Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma; members of Nnewi Sports Club; MD of Carter Group, Engr Ndubuisi Okoli, and his wife; Sir I.G Nduka; and Sir Arthur Ngwugbe, among others.

Chief Onwugbenu, a renowned philanthropist, officially opened the tournament.

His foundation has made significant contributions to humanity, creating initiatives that deliver knowledge, skills, resources, and infrastructure, stimulating innovation, facilitating commerce, and improving living conditions.

Engr Ndubuisi Okoli, MD of Carter Group, stated that the tournament was organized to celebrate his Chairman’s pre-71st birthday anniversary.

He noted that this year’s celebration would be special, as Sir Louis would be celebrating at home with the church, members of Block Rosary, Nnewi Sports Club, and his community.

The tournament will conclude on August 16, 2024, with attractive prizes, including N500,000 for the first team, N400,000 for the second team, and N300,000 for the third team, plus consolation prizes.

Obiora Okeke, captain of Nnewi Sports Club, said the tournament was organized to celebrate their Prime Minister, who has contributed significantly to the growth of his community.

Okeke said,”Today is a special day, as we celebrate our Prime Minister, who built a mansion at the back of the club and sponsored everything we are doing today.”
