Omenugha hosts Anambra youth symposium,harps on skill acquisition

The Special Adviser to the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme,

Dr Nelson Omenugha, has hosted the
second edition of Anambra Youths Symposium, themed: “Be involved. Be the Solution.”

The event took place on Sunday at the International Convention Centre (ICV), Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Interacting with the youths on the occasion, Omenugha harped on the importance of skill acquisition in a contemporary Nigerian society.

He tasked the youths to develop and apply skills as a catalyst to development and agent of solution to the state.

Briefing our correspondent, Omenugha said, “On Sunday, October 22, we successfully hosted the second edition of Anambra Youths Symposium with the theme: “Be involved. Be the Solution.”

“The programme took place at the open foyer of the International Convention Center (ICC) and attracted youths across the State, including members of YESS and beneficiaries of Anambra/MTN ICT and Business Skill Training Programme.

“Among others, the symposium featured my interactions with the youths, the celebration of beneficiaries of Anambra/MTN ICT and Business Skill Training programme, talent displays and gifts-giving.

“I also used the opportunity to urge the youths to deliberately develop and apply their skills as a catalyst to development and agent of solution to the state. Our Government prioritizes human capacity development and empowerment, with the youths as the biggest beneficiaries.

” Mr Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR has demonstrated leadership with his interventions in youth skill training, youth political appointment, youth employment in Education and Health, youth engagement, etc.

“Some of the participants expressed gratitude to the Governor for his spirited commitment to youth development and empowerment, while pledging to be involved as a solution provider.”

Some special guests at the programme include: Hon Chinedu Glamour Nwoye, the State Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Youth Leader, Hon Peter Nwosu, Rev Fr. Paschal Udo, Awka Catholic Diocesan Youth Chaplain, among others.
