A prominent political movement in Anambra North, the Anambra North Political Movement (ANPM), on Saturday endorsed Sir Paul Chukwuma, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), pledging to work tirelessly for his victory in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.
Speaking during the endorsement ceremony, the group’s coordinator, Comrade Chinedu Ekweoba, described Sir Paul Chukwuma as the most competent and credible contender in the race.
He said the decision to back Chukwuma was reached after wide consultations among stakeholders across the senatorial district.
Ekweoba noted that the YPP candidate’s experience, intellect, and record of service set him apart from other contenders, stressing that “as of today, Sir Paul Chukwuma remains the best choice for Ndi Anambra.”
In his response, Sir Paul Chukwuma thanked the group for their confidence and support, assuring them that he would not disappoint the trust reposed in him.
He also presented motorcycles to the group’s coordinators to aid their mobilisation efforts across communities in Anambra North.
The gesture was greeted with excitement as the coordinators pledged to redouble their efforts in grassroots sensitisation and voter mobilisation for the YPP candidate.
Political observers say the endorsement, though coming from a regional pressure group, could significantly boost Chukwuma’s chances given Anambra North’s strategic role in determining electoral outcomes.
The senatorial zone has produced some of the state’s most influential political figures, and support from local movements like ANPM can translate into strong on-the-ground presence during campaigns.
Sir Paul Chukwuma, a businessman, academic, and philanthropist, has continued to draw attention in the state’s political landscape.
