It started like a joke when Mrs Orekoya, a banker in Lagos left her three children in the care of a house maid to go to work after her househelp went on leave and did not return.
This lady who gave a fake name to both OLX, an online sales portal and to the Orekoyas made away with her three children.
She and her gang of robbers first started with a demand of N15million ransom, and then scaled it back to N13million.
But luck ran out on her when Police advised the Orekoyas to pay in N400,000 to the account they provided, and being so smart, knowing that the police may be on her trail used her ATM to withdraw it.
The police started tracking the number and soon, she was arrested. The arrest happened while she was trying to move away from her house to a safe hideout.
The Orekoya kids have since yesterday been reunited with their parents. This was following a gimmick the lady threw, which say her sending the children off to their parents with the hope of putting the police off her trail.
Crime truly does not pay, one way or the other, criminals must get to pay for their sins.
