The people of Anambra North Senatorial District are celebrating after Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye distributed a massive amount of food items and cash gifts to his constituents.

The senator, who represents the district at the National Assembly, handed over 2,000 bags of 50kg rice, 5,500 bags of 25kg rice, and 10,000 bags of 10kg rice, along with other essential commodities like groundnut oil, tin tomatoes, salt, Maggi, and seasoning.

In addition to the food items, Senator Nwoye also gave out over ₦200 million in cash gifts to 3,762 stakeholders, carefully selected from the 99 wards in the district.

Each ward had 38 stakeholders who received financial support for Christmas.

Senator Nwoye, a former student leader, acknowledged that Nigerians are going through tough times and said the donations were his way of giving back to society.

He emphasized that the rice is not only for stakeholders and Labour Party members but for everyone in Anambra North, including mechanics, tailors, indigenes, and non-indigenes.

“I will never take your support for granted, and I assure you I will continue to provide leadership for a better Anambra North and Anambra State,” Nwoye said.

The senator also used the occasion to promote peace and love during the celebration.

He called for the immediate release of Hon. Justice Azuka, a Labour Party House of Assembly member who was recently kidnapped.

Nwoye also urged Governor Soludo to take urgent steps to address the worsening security situation in Anambra State.

The donation was made possible by the collective efforts of all Labour Party representatives in Anambra North, including Hon. Peter Anekwe, Hon. Afam Ogene, Hon. Iduu Emeka, Hon. Jude Umennajiego, Hon. Fred Ezenwa, Hon. Pat Okafor, and Hon. Justice Azuka.

The event was a significant moment for the people of Anambra North, who were grateful for the senator’s kindness and generosity.
