Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has approved the immediate 100 per cent implementation of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for health workers in the state.
The directive, which takes effect without delay, was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Dame Theodora Igwebe, and made available to newsmen on Thursday.
According to the statement, the governor’s approval covers a wide range of health professionals, including nurses, nurse anaesthetists, psychiatric nurses, community health workers and technicians, medical health technicians, medical laboratory scientists, radiographers, and physiotherapists.
The Head of Service further noted that the approval extends to all relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as the Local Government Service Commission.
To ensure smooth execution, both the Accountant-General of the state and the Accountant-General for Local Government have been directed to commence immediate payment under the new structure.
“All concerned are hereby directed to disseminate the contents of this circular and ensure strict compliance,” the statement read in part.
With this move, the Soludo administration has fulfilled a longstanding demand by health workers for full implementation of the CONHESS 2024 salary structure, signaling the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s health sector and boosting the welfare of its workforce.
