The chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Hon. Shedrack N. Azubuike has said that the crucification of Christ marked the begining of man’s victory.

The chairman stated this in a message to mark the celebration of Good Friday, a Christian celebration that marked the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Azubuike who attended a Catholic event to mark the celebration released a message encouraging Christians in their faith and belief in God.

He said: “Today, we stand still in the shadow of the cross, a solemn and sacred pause to honor the immeasurable sacrifice of Jesus Christ. On this Good Friday, we remember His suffering, His crucifixion and the relentless love that held Him there, not nails, but grace.

“This is a day that carries both sorrow and promise. In His death, we find our redemption. In His wounds, our healing. And in His silence, the loudest declaration of love the world has ever known.

“Good Friday is not merely a day of mourning, it is a call to remembrance. A call to humility. A call to hope. For even in the darkest hour, God’s divine plan was unfolding. The cross was not defeat, it was the beginning of victory.

“Let us be still. Let us be moved. And let us be changed.

“May our hearts be broken open to grace. May our lives mirror the mercy we’ve received. And may we go forth extending love, forgiveness, and compassion in every word and deed.

“Wishing you deep peace and reflection this Good Friday. May the power of the cross lift you, renew you, and lead you forward,” the chairman stated.
