Ito Ogbo Obosi promotes longevity says community’s prime minister

Obosi community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra has celebrated its 2024 ito ogbo festival.

Chief Austen-Collins Anibogwu, The Traditional Prime Minister stated in an interview with newsmen on Saturday that the ceremony was a success.

He described the ceremony as eventful, saying the 2024 ceremony recorded the highest number of 80 years old people that were initiated into the prestigious group.

“Today we recorded over 200 persons that were initiated into the prestigious age society as against 15 to 100 in other years,” he said.

According to the Prime Minister he said that the three years events promotes longevity and creates hope for younger generations to respect old age.

He said that the ito ogbo committee for 2024 did a very good job and prayed that next three years team will improve on any short fall.

Anibogwu said that every plans to ensure security of lives and vehicles of participants and visitors were on ground and that no causality was recorded.

He said that Ayigadi age grade would be the host of 2027 ito ogbo festival and we pray it will be very grand.
