New Okopoly Rector Bans Cash Spraying, Public Display of Wealth

Dr. Chioma Awuzie, the newly inaugurated Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, has pledged to uphold high standards of behaviour among staff and students.

She vowed to enforce strict measures against malpractice and ensure efficient use of funds.

At her inauguration ceremony, Awuzie expressed concern over the public display of wealth and vehicles on campus.

She prohibited cash spraying during graduations and other ceremonies, encouraging students to celebrate in a stylish and organized manner instead.

The Rector outlined her 12-point agenda for transforming the polytechnic into a hub of technological creativity and innovation.

She emphasized the need for collaboration and teamwork, identifying key areas such as human resource development, academic reinvention, and infrastructural development.

Awuzie reiterated her commitment to pursuing the institution’s founding vision, calling for unity of purpose and stakeholder support.

Her appointment marks a milestone as the second female rector and the first to be appointed from within the institution.

The inauguration ceremony drew dignitaries, including past and present heads of the institution, traditional and religious leaders, politicians, and industry heads.
