A former Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Chief Uche Nworah, who is the Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of National Institute of Meteorological Agency, Prof. Charles Anosike, has advised staff of ABS to utilize the opportunities inherent in the use of smart phones to better their lives.
Chief Nworah gave the advice when he paid an on the spot visit to the station with his friend and colleague, Professor Vincent Weli, the Director Weather Forecasting Services, NIMET, who was on a working visit to the state.
According to Chief Nworah, they were sent by the DG/CEO of NIMET, Prof. Anosike, to set up weather station at Otuocha, Anambra East council area.
Chief Nworah noted that though he has joined APC, Anambra is his state and that of Prof. Anosike, which is why they are making every effort to support the growth of the state.
He appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for all he is doing in the state in terms of infrastructure, calling on him to come to the ABS and get first information on what the ABS needs to stand on its feet, urging him to turn ABS around for good.
On his part, Professor Weli advised farmers in the state to always monitor the weather before planting as it will enable them to know when to plant and harvest, and make maximum profit.
Chief Nworah was accorded rousing reception on arrival as members of ABS staff trooped out to receive and walk round the station with him.
