The National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has hailed the Court of Appeal’s recent ruling as a significant victory for Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, the authentic national chairman of the party.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Obigwe described the Court of Appeal’s decision as a clear indication that “you can’t shave a man’s head at his back,” emphasizing that Ezeokenwa was not a party to the suit that led to the recognition of Edozie Njoku as national chairman by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Obigwe accused Njoku of concealing a Supreme Court letter clarifying that he was not declared the national chairman, and described his actions as “dirty games” aimed at deceiving APGA members and the general public.

He also criticized Chinedu Anselem Nnebeife, a former national youth leader of APGA, for his involvement with Njoku, saying he lacked character and was driven by self-interest.

Obigwe recalled how Anselem had tried to discourage him from supporting Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s gubernatorial ambition in 2021, and how he had conscripted Akachukwu Nwankpo into the race.

The statement emphasized that the Court of Appeal’s ruling has given APGA the opportunity to challenge the recognition of Njoku as national chairman, and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would ultimately recognize Ezeokenwa as the legitimate national chairman.

Obigwe predicted that Njoku and his cohorts would soon be forgotten, and that genuine APGA members would continue to recognize Ezeokenwa as the national chairman and Governor Soludo as the indefatigable national leader of the party.

The leadership tussle in APGA has been ongoing, with both Ezeokenwa and Njoku claiming to be the authentic national chairman. The matter is expected to be resolved by the Supreme Court in the coming weeks.
