Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed Mr. Anthony Ughenu and Barrister Cynthia Idemobi as the substantive Clerk and Deputy Clerk of the Assembly, respectively.
Their confirmation followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Honourable Ikenna Ofodeme, during plenary today.
In his remarks, the Speaker, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, congratulated the newly confirmed officers for their courage, dedication, and commitment to working harmoniously with lawmakers and staff of the Assembly.
He urged them to continue upholding the confidence reposed in them.
Giving his votes of thanks, the clerk, Mr. Ughenu commended the speaker, members of the 8th Assembly and Mr Governor for finding them worthy for the position. He also appreciated the staff who gave them maximum cooperation in discharging their duties.
The clerk asserted it’s a call to step up and keep working efficiently in line with the footsteps of Mr Governor’s mission and vision and pledged renewed dedication to their responsibilities.
Similarly, the deputy clerk, Barrister Idemobi expressed gratitude to the speaker and members of the State Assembly for the confirmation while praying for God’s protection on them during the election season.
