This year’s theme, “Girls’ Vision for the Future,” highlights girls’ perspectives in shaping a brighter, more equitable future

Ekwunife stressed listening to girls’ voices, acknowledging their dreams, and supporting their leadership.

She urged parents to prioritize daughters’ education and well-being, fostering supportive home environments encouraging learning, self-expression, and confidence-building.

Ekwunife told young Nigerian girls, “You are the architects of your own future,” encouraging them to harness talents, creativity, and intelligence to contribute to families, communities, and the nation.

She called on teachers to recognize potential in every girl child, creating safe, supportive classrooms inspiring girls to pursue dreams.

The Senator formerly representing Anambra Central Senatorial District urged the government to invest in policies supporting girls’ education, health, and gender equality, and enact laws protecting girls from early marriage and gender-based violence.

She emphasized programmes providing mentorship, vocational training, and financial literacy to help girls thrive, reiterating commitment to empowering both girls and boys for balanced, responsible future leadership.

“By prioritizing girl child education and well-being, Nigeria can unlock future leaders’ potential and build a brighter, more inclusive society,” Ekwunife maintained
